Detoxing is a system where you flush toxins from the body and is often associated with increased energy levels.

Step One: Pick A Tea You Like

Because You Are Going to Drink A Lot of It

So there are several types of tea that are associated with using tea to detox your body. Green tea, black tea, Oolong tea, and white tea are all known to be used to detox the body with. Which makes it a little confusing when you are just starting out. It probably seems like it doesn’t matter what tea you go with since every type seems to be used. But that’s not true. While it's true that a wide variety of teas are used for the purpose of detoxing, it is not true that they all do the same thing.

In fact each tea is really used for its specific characteristics. However, the tea that will detox you the best is the tea that you will drink the most regularly. So make sure you pick one that you are comfortable drinking several times a day at least. In order to get the full effects from a tea cleanse or detox you need to flood your system with the benefits from the tea. And since you can’t drink it all at one time, you will have to space out over several days where you drink a high volume of tea throughout each of the days. Not all at once either. You want to keep it consistent throughout the day. So consume a moderate amount of tea consistently throughout your day so your body is constantly absorbing the detoxifying elements of the tea.

Tea has long been associated with positive health effects, likely due to the high level of antioxidants found in most teas.

What Are The Different Options to Detox With?

Each Tea Has Its Own Special Benefits That Are Worth Considering

Green tea is well known to be full of antioxidants. And these antioxidants are essentially what are responsible for cleaning your body in the first place. And that means that consuming green tea helps to flood your system with antioxidants, and the antioxidants in turn detoxify your system. The reason green tea is good for this is because it is naturally higher than other teas in antioxidants.

Oolong tea has been associated with some moderate weight loss in a few limited studies. So if you are looking to help control your weight with your detox process Oolong tea can be a great option. Because it can help assist your body in weight loss. However, there is also the added benefit that the tea is a much healthier lower calorie option than soda or sugary juices. Because of that it can also assist your weight because you are reducing the number of calories you are drinking each day and instead consume more water.

If you are looking to detox using tea, but are sensitive to caffeine, then white tea might be a great choice for you. See while white tea is high in antioxidants like many other teas, it has a lower level of caffeine than other teas. And since a tea detox requires you to drink tea pretty much all day, that means there’s a high level of caffeine you might be exposed to by consuming caffeinated tea all day. So if that sounds like it will be a problem for you, take a look into white tea. It naturally has a lower level of caffeine than green tea or black tea so if you are sensitive to caffeine it will help alleviate your struggle.

White tea makes an excellent tea to detox with for those sensitive to caffeine because it is high in antioxidants but low in caffeine.

How to Actually Go About the Detox

Your Phone’s Alarm Will Be A Huge Assistance

So when you have selected the kind of tea that is right for you, how do you actually go about the detox process? Well the best thing to do is to set up a series of alarms on your phone that will go off at the same time each day during the duration of your cleanse. You will want to be drinking so many cups of tea throughout the day, but if you want to really help your body, consuming the tea at the same time each day helps your body utilize it more efficiently.

So set up alarms to remind you to drink your tea so you don’t have to remember to drink a cup every hour or so. And yeah it is like that. You’ll want to have at least one glass when you first wake up and have your breakfast. Then throughout your day you will want to be drinking between 3 and 6 cups each and every day. Then at night you will want to have a glass before bed. But make sure it's low in caffeine. Just set your alarms so they remind you to get as many cups of tea in throughout the day as you want to for your cleanse and make sure you drink them everyday throughout the detox process.

The high level of antioxidants in tea is what makes it so effective as a detoxifying agent.

Well there you have it. A total beginner’s guide to herbal detox teas. And it’s important you go with an organic tea. If you are trying to detox your body you don’t want to introduce chemicals and pesticides to it through non herbal teas. It would kind of defeat the whole purpose of detoxifying to begin with. Not to mention it just won’t work. You can’t use tea to detox if the tea you are using to brew with is full of toxins itself. Does that make sense? Of course it does. The obvious move is to switch to organic teas when detoxing. Or really anytime.
